Definitely not Cooked to HDR Perfection

Taken with 5d Mark II using Photomatix HDR and Adobe PS Photomerge
    - needs more time in the creative oven.

So I tried it…. Take a Pano using High Dynamic Range & the Photomerge in Adobe Photoshop. Looks like I will need to operate to make this image palatable. How I “tried”. Got to Glacier Point at Sunrise. Placed the camera on a tripod (vertically). Took 4 images of the same vantage at 1 E.V. apart . Then moved the camera to the next ‘section’ and repeated. As you can see the HDR software recognized different acceptable values for each individual shot. Then when the TIFFS were brought into Photomerge, PS went to blend to make the exposures even over the entire image. The actual seams were matched really well- However, the exposure blending is pretty bad. It actually looks like 3 photographs melted together. That is what I get for automating. Don’t know if I will go any farther with the shot.

    Yosemite National Park

Shot Details: 5d Mark II- 24mm TSE (old one) f14
Water from Yosemite Falls headed to the Merced River

I just got back from Yosemite National Park. There was hardly a soul in the park, really strange- but very refreshing. The dogwood was in bloom and the snowmelt roaring out of the backcountry made for some exciting nature photography. If you can't make it up there to shoot- Live webcams seem to be everywhere in the modern world today. The Yosemite Association which is a non-profit has some great ones located around the park. Here is the address: http://www.yosemite.org/129/Web-Cam-View.htm. The only problem is if you know Yosemite NP and you see these cams you’ll wish for teleportation.
