So the big guys iStock, Getty, Corbis, and all their spin off collections have the whole stock ‘thing’ covered right? Well not exactly. These guys don’t have the archives nor the time to focus on “mid sized” metro areas. Now this does not work for every location, but if you try to look for a photograph of any worth of your local mid to small size metro area chances are these big guys come up short. Take the example to the left: A local Sacramento magazine is doing story for Highway 50 and Green Commuting- good luck finding editorial stock from Corbis that could represent that! Also not all markets are large/sophisticated enough to have a stock need. But I believe Sacramento to be.
